A memory in honor a memory
For this project/zine I was partly inspired by Walter Benjamin's book ''art in the age of the mechanical reproduction'' and have intertwined this with the artifact of a real lived moment, a photograph of me and my mother. The actual and the corresponding 'aura' no longer exist, and all that remains is a surrogate version of that memory that keeps repeating itself until it has lost all contact with the reality of that time.
I illustrated the literal translation by printing out a whatsapp photo my mother made and copying it over and over until all visual information is lost.
